What we collect, and what we do with it.

This notice covers bghub.co.ke and the forms on it. It is written to be read, not to be survived. If anything here is unclear, or you want your information removed, write to info@bghub.co.ke and a person will answer.

Three pillars

Permission, every time

Nothing is published or passed on unless you said we could, and each permission is treated separately — your story, your photograph, your contact. Change your mind and it comes down.

Consent

Only what is needed

We ask for what a programme, a placement or an order actually requires, use it for that, and keep it no longer than the reason for holding it. Nothing is collected quietly in the background.

Purpose

Yours to see, correct or erase

Under the Data Protection Act 2019 you can ask what we hold, have it put right, or have it deleted. One email to info@bghub.co.ke is enough, and we answer within thirty days.

Control

The short version

Four things, in plain terms.

We ask, we do not take

Nothing on this site collects your details in the background. You give us information when you fill in a form, call, email or message us — and not otherwise.

Nothing is published without permission

Testimonials appear only where the person ticked the box saying we may publish, and only in the form they asked for. Permission can be withdrawn at any time.

We do not sell your information

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. It is shared only with the services listed below that we need to run the hub.

You can ask us to delete it

Under the Data Protection Act 2019 you can ask what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to erase it. One email is enough.

Who we are

BGHUB Kenya is a division of Bob Grogan Consulting Ltd, a NITA-registered training provider based in Nairobi. For anything in this notice, we are the data controller and the contact is info@bghub.co.ke or 0709 228 500.

What we collect, and why

Each of these comes from something you chose to do.

Mentee, internship and workshop registration

Our registration forms run on KoBoToolbox. They ask for your name, contact details, education and work background, and what you are looking for. We use this to place you on a programme, match you with a mentor, and contact you about intakes. We keep it for as long as you are with us and for a reasonable period afterwards so we can confirm your training history if an employer asks. KoBoToolbox stores the submissions on its own servers, outside Kenya.

Testimonials

The testimonial form asks separately whether we may publish your story, use your photograph, link your LinkedIn profile, and pass your contact to someone considering joining. Each answer is treated as a separate permission and honoured exactly. Where permission to publish was not given, nothing appears — not the story, not an anonymised version. Names appear in the form each person chose, which is why some appear as a first name and an initial. No contact details of any testimonial writer are published. Write to us and your testimonial comes down.

Calls, email and WhatsApp

When you call, email or message us we hold what you send and our reply, so we can pick up where the conversation left off. Calls to our line may be recorded for training and quality; you are told at the start of the call, and you can ask us not to.

The platforms

BG Learning Hub, WorkLog, BG Brand Hub and BG Microfinance are separate systems with their own accounts and their own terms. What you do inside them — course progress, logged evidence, orders, savings — is held there. This notice covers the website; each platform tells you about its own handling when you sign up.

Cookies and advertising

The honest detail, since most sites bury this part.

What this site sets itself

The site remembers whether you chose light or dark mode. That is stored in your own browser and is not sent to us or to anyone else.

Google AdSense

Some pages on this site carry Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, Google among them, use cookies to serve ads based on your earlier visits to this site or to other sites. Google’s use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.

Those third parties may place and read cookies in your browser, and may use web beacons and your IP address, to collect information as a result of ads being served on this site. We do not control those cookies and we do not receive the information they collect.

You can turn personalised advertising off in Google’s Ads Settings. You can opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info. Google sets out what it collects and how it uses it in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and in How Google uses cookies in advertising.

Several pages carry no advertising by choice. The Testimonials page does not, because the people on it agreed to appear on a training provider’s website and not alongside third-party advertising. The Scholarships page does not, because it asks people for money and running advertising beside that ask would be wrong. This privacy notice does not, since a page explaining ad cookies should not itself be carrying ads. Nor do the gallery, news, contact, founder, Learning Hub, Share your story or error pages.

Your rights under the Data Protection Act 2019

These are yours to use, and using them costs nothing.

  • To be told what we hold about you and what we are doing with it.
  • To see it — ask for a copy of your information.
  • To correct it if something we hold is wrong or out of date.
  • To have it erased where there is no longer a reason for us to keep it.
  • To object to a particular use, including withdrawing a permission you gave earlier, such as a published testimonial.
  • To complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner if you think we have handled your information badly.

Write to info@bghub.co.ke with what you want and enough detail for us to find your record. We answer within thirty days, and usually sooner.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we handle information, this page changes with it and the date below changes too. Anything that materially affects people already on our programmes will be sent to them directly rather than left here to be discovered.
